New in, knitwear

See it folded.
Then worn.

Everyday clothes cut and sewn in downtown Los Angeles. Each piece comes to the table folded, the way it ships, and opens into a photograph of it being worn.

Pattern cutter at a work table in a bright studio with dress forms

The studio

Cut, sewn and folded
a mile from the shop.

Placket is a cutting table, six sewing machines and a pressing iron on the third floor of an old garment building on East 3rd Street. We cut forty of a style at a time, so nothing sits in a warehouse and a sleeve can change between runs if you tell us it is too long.

Letters back

Worn, washed,
and written about.

  • I bought the turtleneck in September and have worn it about forty times since. It still looks folded.

The stone trousers have a drawcord inside the waistband. I didn't know I needed that until Thanksgiving.

Ordered a 26, tried it, swapped it for a 28 in two days. They sent a paper bag for the return. Nice touch.

    Priya S.

    Brooklyn

It arrived folded exactly like the photo, tied with string. I nearly didn't open it.

    Hannah W.

    Portland

The loafers needed a week. Now they're the only shoes I pack.

    Luis M.

    San Diego

Linen that doesn't feel like sandpaper on day one. Washed it twice, it only got better.
